Terms of Service

Platable is for adults. By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into this agreement. We will close any account we learn belongs to someone under 18.

This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is stated plainly.

• Platable does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a medical device.
• Calorie and macro targets are estimates from a standard formula (Mifflin-St Jeor) applied to numbers you typed in. They take no account of your medical history, medication, pregnancy, eating-disorder history or anything else about you.
• Nutrition figures for logged meals and generated recipes are approximations, often produced by AI. They are not suitable for clinical use — including, for example, carbohydrate counting for insulin dosing.
• Recipes may omit or misdescribe an allergen. Always check ingredients yourself against your own allergies and requirements before buying, cooking or eating anything.
• Workouts and running sessions are generic suggestions. Exercise carries a risk of injury. Warm up, use a weight you can control, and stop if something hurts.

Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before starting any diet, calorie target or exercise program, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under medical care, take medication, have a history of disordered eating, or have a heart, metabolic or musculoskeletal condition. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. Never delay or ignore professional advice because of something you read in Platable.

Keep your password to yourself and let us know at support@platable.io if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. One account per person; don't share one.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, or see how to delete your account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

The free plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits and a limit on saved recipes. Generating a recipe, importing one from a web address, generating a photo or generating a workout plan spends one credit; a meal plan spends one credit per meal in it. The allowance resets each month and unused credits don't roll over. Logging meals, nutrition estimates, the training coach, race blocks, check-ins, the calendar and the shopping list are free and are not metered.

Pro removes the credit allowance and the saved-recipe limit. We may change what the free plan includes, the allowance, or the price of Pro. If a change affects a subscription you are already paying for, we will tell you before it applies to you, and it will not change the price of a term you have already paid.

Pro is a recurring subscription, billed monthly or yearly, and it renews automatically until you cancel. Where we offer a free trial it is one per account, and unless you cancel before it ends the subscription starts and you are charged.

Bought on the website: payment is handled by Stripe. Manage or cancel it from the Billing page, which opens Stripe's customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.

Bought in the iPhone or Android app: payment is handled by Apple or Google, under that store's terms. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings — cancelling inside Platable, or deleting your Platable account, does not stop store billing.

Prices are shown before you buy and exclude any tax that may be added. Refunds are at our discretion for website purchases, and are handled entirely by Apple or Google for in-app purchases. None of this affects statutory rights you may have that cannot be waived.

Recipes, meal plans, workout plans, recipe photos and nutrition estimates are produced by an AI model. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent to produce them.

AI output is not reviewed by a human before you see it and can be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe or odd. The same request can produce different results, and identical or similar output may be generated for other people, so treat it as a starting point rather than something original to you. As between you and us, generated content you save is yours to use; we make no claim over it and give no warranty that it doesn't resemble anything else.

If something a feature generated is wrong, unsafe, offensive or otherwise shouldn't have been produced, use the Report button on it. We review reports and may change the feature, remove content or restrict an account as a result.

What you enter — meals, weights, workouts, recipes, notes — stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store it, process it, show it back to you, and send the relevant parts to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy. We don't use your content to train AI models and we don't sell it.

You agree not to:

• Use Platable for anything unlawful, or to give diet or training instructions to someone else as if they were professional advice
• Try to get the AI features to produce harmful content, including extreme calorie restriction, content promoting disordered eating, or anything unsafe
• Script, scrape, resell or otherwise abuse the AI features, or work around credit limits, rate limits or the paywall
• Break, probe or overload the service, or try to reach another account's data
• Upload or generate content that infringes someone else's rights

We can suspend or close an account that does any of this, and we may remove content that breaks these terms.

We try to keep Platable running, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features can change or be withdrawn, and we may have to take the service down for maintenance. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

Platable is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We specifically do not warrant that nutrition figures, calorie targets, recipes or training suggestions are accurate, complete or suitable for you.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to Platable is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of Platable in breach of these terms.

This agreement is between you and Platable, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price; otherwise Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim about the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US embargo or designated as terrorist supporting, and that you are not on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

You can stop using Platable and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or with reasonable notice if we stop offering the service. The sections on AI content, your content, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive the end of this agreement.

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Platable after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and you and we each consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing something isn't a waiver of it. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us. You can't transfer your rights under them; we can transfer ours to a successor of the business.
